A vibrant and colourful two days await the National Institute of Industrial Engineering (NITIE) campus this October. Arohan, the annual cultural fest of NITIE, will be held from 19th October, 2013 as part of the Golden Jubilee celebrations under 'Avartan'. Two days of dance, music, Bollywood and non-stop fun and fanfare will get the crowd going, set the stage on fire and get the heads banging.
Arohan has myriad events lined up for the two days which will up the fun quotient by several notches. From rock concerts to graffiti, from short films to street plays, the cultural fest will have something for everyone this season. The campus will also welcome personalities who have taken the road less travelled, luminaries who had it in them to follow their passion, persevere, and succeed by taking a path that was fraught with risk. The event draws participants not only from within Mumbai but also the top B-Schools from all over India. Events ranging from plays, pop and rock shows, fusion and fashion shows will ensure that the atmosphere is always electric and there’s never a dull moment.
The festival will get rolling with the much awaited event, Headbangerz Arena. The stage will be all set for the upcoming college bands to battle it out to be the next ‘Metallicas’ and ‘Queens’. Nukkad Natak is another main attraction of the fest. An equally exciting and yet satirical and intense experience of a tradition lost in time, these street plays showcase one of the many facets of Indian culture.
CHALCHITRA is the ideal platform for the aspiring directors and actors to display their talents and to set the screen ablaze. The event also has something for the painters to look forward to. Doodle is the graffiti competition where the artists can let their imagination soar and let the colours do the talking. And all this is just a glimpse of what is going to happen. Other events include Surkshetra, Mosaic, Open Shutter, Informalz and the list goes on.
And NITIE this year will get a share of Bollywood too. Movie crew of the upcoming Bollywood flick 'Mickey Virus' will be visiting the campus during Arohan. Music Director Hanif Shaikh will perform with his band.
