Do’s
Wear Sunglasses – they’ll keep your eyes safe from the bad effects of colours
Wear old clothes that can be discarded easily. Ideally wear full sleeved clothes; despite the heat they’ll protect you and your skin from getting colour
Oil yourself before stepping out – This will ensure that dirty colours don’t stay on you and cause harm to your body / skin. You may be using eco-friendly and organic colurs, but others may not!
Be extremely careful when travelling on bikes – people throw eggs and water balloons and these can be extremely dangerous causing you to skid / lose control
Don’ts
Don’t wear contact lenses to play Holi. Remove them and wear your glasses before stepping out – they’re a better proectection!
Avoid forcing others to play colours if he/she is not interested!
Use of gulaal – It has extremely harmful chemicals which get ingested by the blood
Avoid Bhang – there are spurious forms of Bhaang and thandai being served in most parties. Some of them and even the alcohol served at parties can be contaminated with the date rape drug Rohypnol
Stay away from hooligans and large crowds of unknown men (this is for the women)
