PADARPAN- Introductory Dance Workshop held at MAHAGAMI Campus, Aurangabad

“MAHAGAMI” Mahatma Gandhi Mission Sangeet Academy, Aurangabad, had facilitated a 3-Day introductory workshop of Kathak & Odissi dance on February 5th, 6th & 7th, 2015 between 6-8 pm in MAHAGAMI Campus.

The ‘PADARPAN’ workshop was conducted under the supervision of renowned Kathak & Odissi exponent Parwati Dutta for the art seekers above 5 years age.

Kathak is one of the most popular Indian Classical dance forms that originated in the northern part of India. Rich rhythmic patterns, graceful movements and silvery spins form the technical virtuosity of Kathak.

Odissi dance, originated in Orissa is one of the oldest Classical dances with its first reference in Bharat Muni’s Natyashahtra. Fluid movement, language, spiritual intensity and sculputerque poses are the salient features  of Odissi. MAHAGAMI is the only institution in Marathwada to offer training in Odissi dance. Parwati Dutta, a world renowned Kathak & Odissi performer and Guru imparts training in these art forms at MAHAGAMI.
