Oslava-2015: Annual Departmental fest of Sri Aurobindo College

Sanjeevani - The Botanical Society of Sri Aurobindo College organised its annual Departmental fest, Oslava-2015 last Tuesday on March 24, 2015. 

 

The event started with the invited lecture by Dr. Sandeep Das ( Assistant Professor, Department of Botany, University Of Delhi) on the topic "Killing the Messenger: Small RNA with a big role." The lecture was from the latest and upcoming field and was well received by the audience. 

 

 

 

 

Afterwards, the competitions were started. First round was taken as the Quiz Competition. Second round was Dumb Charades and was a big hit among the participants which also helped the participants to interact with each other better. Participants had to enact different botanical terms given to them. Rengovallis & Beg borrow steal proceeded the event. Participants made floral diagrams, embryology of flowers, structures of diatoms etc. as the theme was Botanical Rangolis. This competition was won by Gaurav from Chemistry hons of the same college. 

 

 

 

 

Beg borrow steal received the most registrations. The winning team solved all the riddles in mere 12 minutes.

 

 

 

 

Participants performed beyond expectations in Pot decoration and Ad making. Their creativity and imagination was commendable. The competition ended with "Rap ka Tadka."

 

 

The participating colleges include Hansraj College, Bhimrao Ambedkar College, Satyawati College, Deshbandhu College and many more registered in different competitions and also bagged prizes in many.

 

 

 

 

 

The Principal of the College Dr. Vipin Kr. Aggarwal graced the valedictory function by awarding all the winners with trophies, certificates and cash prizes. Dr. Manju M. Gupta( The teacher-in-charge), Dr. Rahul Dev(The Teacher Advisor) and Dr. Sumit Sahni(Organizing Secretary) made this event a great success. This Event could have not been possible without the constant support and perseverance of the volunteers.
