NSS Volunteers from three units in Mangalayatan University, Aligarh celebrated NSS Day on 24th September 2015. Faculty members, students and social organizations lauded valuable social services provided by the volunteers and have asked others to adopt ‘Not Me, But You’ approach for serving the Nation.
Brig. (Dr.) Surjit Pabla, Vice-Chancellor, Mangalayatan University inaugurated the programme. He appreciated the initiatives taken by the volunteers including taking care of heritage sites, blood donation camps, sapling and cleanliness drives. ‘Youths serving the Nation are more valuable assets for the country. We should think what we have contributed towards national development rather than merely thinking about what we got from the Nation. This approach will move us towards greater attachment with the country’, he said.
A group of volunteers also presented the skit on ‘Save and Educate Girl Child’. Ankit Tiwari and group played a Nukkad Natak on RTI. Programme was attended by the Programme Co-ordinator Dr. AKS Rajput and Programme Office Dr. Rinku Raguvanshi.
According to Programme Office (Unit-3) Jay Prakash Garg, NSS is going to organize blood donation camp and a seven day special camp for social service. ‘We have been felicitated by the District Administration for the blood donation for the last two years and will keep this tradition continue this year as well’, said Shri Garg.
