Group Discussion (GD), which used to be a crucial part of the selection process at the coveted Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs), has been scrapped in most of the colleges.
11, out of the total 13 IIMs, will have no Group Discussion (GD) in their procedures for management admissions for the academic session 2014-2022.
The previous admission procedure for IIMs involved CAT/GMAT scores, Written Aptitude Test (WAT), Group Discussion and Personal Interviews (GD/PI).
The only IIMs that will retain Group Discussion as a part of the selection procedure include IIM Lucknow and IIM Kozhikode.
The remaining candidates will be shortlisted basis the CAT/GMAT scores, Written Aptitude Test (WAT) and Personal Interview (PI).
In addition to this, all the IIMs will take into account the candidate’s work experience and past academic records.
