The Delhi University (DU) admission process for undergraduate courses is going to start from June 2, 2014. DU has revamped its admission procedure for this year. Moreover, the major change made by DU is that it has removed the college selection option from both online and offline admission forms. Earlier, students were able to select the colleges as per their preferences. But, DU has removed that option, from this year onwards
According to J.M.Khurana, Delhi University’s Dean of Students Welfare, in recent years, lots of complaints have been registered by the students that even after getting a higher percentage, they are not able to get admission in any of the colleges that they had. chosen. They failed to get in after the cut offs were announced.
The college selection option was removed last year from the admission forms after DU introduced the four-year undergraduate programme. However, earlier this month when admission guidelines were introduced by DU, the officials said that students would be able to choose preferred colleges so that colleges will get more information to prepare their cut offs accordingly.
As per Malay Neerav, Joint Dean of Students’ Welfare and, the process has just been simplified and made easier for students so that they don’t have to face any kind of problems while taking admission.
The DU admission applications will be available for students from June 2, 2014 and are to be submitted by June 16, 2014.
