The institute was formally known as Karnataka Regional Engineering College and is now a public engineering university based at Surathkal. Formally known as Motilal Nehru Regional Engineering College (MNREC), MNNIT or NIT Allahabad is a public higher education institute based in Uttar Pradesh and is among the leading engineering colleges in NIT ranking list. Like the other National Institutes of Technology, NIT Allahabad is also classified as an Institute of National Importance. In a joint survey conducted by Economic Times, MNNIT Allahabad was declared as the best engineering college in North India and ranked No. 1 in overall. Not only is this, but the MNNIT is also ranked 3rd in all 30 NITs and No 1 NIT of India in various surveys an rankings. Aside from this, Global Human Research Development Centre ranked Motilal Nehru National Institute of Technology on No 1 in ‘Top Engineering Colleges of Super Excellence.’
NIT Hamirpur

NIT Hamirpur was established on August 1986 as a Regional Engineering College in Hamirpur, Himachal Pradesh. Classes started at the Government Polytechnic College Hamirpur initially, as the institute has no campus as such. The administration and the classes moved to the present structure in 1987 when some of the buildings were ready. At the time of inception, the institute offered admissions in only three departments that included Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Electrical and Electronics Engineering. Counted among the top engineering colleges in NIT ranking list, NIT Hamirpur is located in the spectacular natural backdrop and has a superb infrastructure that enables it to lure students from all over India.
