NIFT (National Institute of Fashion Technology) 2012: Admission Notification

National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT), New Delhi was set up by the Ministry of Textiles, Government of India, in technical collaboration with FIT, New York. NIFT Delhi has produced a number of eminent alumni over the years like Rohit Bal, Ritu Beri, Manish Malhotra. It offers a variety of regular as well as CE programs. It has the olders and richest resource centre having a rich collections of print and non-print materials.

National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) is inviting applications for its Bachelor & Master Degree programmes in Design, Management & Technology for the academic session 2012-13.

Bachelor Programmes:

1. Bachelor of Fashion Design
2. Bachelor of Design (Leather Design)
3. Bachelor of Design (Accessory Design)
4. Bachelor of Design (Textile Design)
5. Bachelor of Design (Knitwear Design)
6. Bachelor of Design (Fashion and Communication)
7. Bachelor of Fashion Technology (Apparel Production)

Master Programmes:

1. Master of Design
2. Master of Fashion Management

Eligibility Criteria

FOR BACHELOR PROGRAMMES - DESIGN

B.Des. (Fashion Design / Leather Design / Accessory Design / Textile Design / Knitwear Design / Fashion Communication)

You should have cleared any of the following examination system:

• The +2 level examination in the 10+2 pattern of examination of any recognised Central/State Board of Secondary Examination, such as Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi, and Council for Indian School of Certificate Examination, New Delhi.
• General Certificate Education (GCE) Examination (London/Cambridge/Sri-Lanka) at the Advanced (A) level.
• Any Public School/Board/University Examination in India or in Foreign countries recognised by the Association of Indian Universities as equivalent to 10+2 system.
• A pass grade in the Senior Secondary School Examination conducted by the National Open School with a minimum of five subjects.
• 3 or 4-years diploma recognised by AICTE or a State Board of Technical Education.

Please note that the upper age limit for applying in bachelor programmes is restricted to 23 years as on 1st November, 2011.


FOR BACHELOR PROGRAMME - TECHNOLOGY

B.F.Tech. (Apparel Production)

You should have cleared any of the following examination system:
 

• The +2 level examination in the 10+2 pattern of examination of any recognised Central/State Board of Secondary Examination, such as Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi, and Council for Indian School of Certificate Examination, New Delhi with Physics, Chemistry and Maths.
• General Certificate Education (GCE) Examination (London/Cambridge/Sri- Lanka) at the advanced (A) level with Physics, Chemistry and Maths.
• Any Public School/Board/University Examination in India or in foreign countries recognised by the Association of Indian Universities as equivalent to 10+2 system with Physics, Chemistry and Maths.
• A pass grade in the Senior Secondary School Examination conducted by the National Open School with a minimum of five subjects with Physics, Chemistry and Maths.
• 3 or 4-years diploma recognised by AICTE or a State Board of Technical Education (Engineering background).

Candidate must be pass in Physics, Chemistry & Maths.
Please note that the upper age limit for applying in bachelor programmes is restricted to 23 years as on 1st November, 2011.


FOR MASTER PROGRAMME - DESIGN

M.Des. (Master of Design)

You should have either of the two:
 

• Undergraduate Degree from any Institute / University recognized by law in India.
• Diploma in UG Design from NIFT / NID only. (Design Space is an advanced course that demands an understanding of fundamentals in design & presupposes that candidates would be familiar with the basic skills and theories for successful completion of the programme. NIFT programme would not provide any basic knowledge & skill development in design as a part of Master programme.)

FOR MASTER PROGRAMME - MANAGEMENT

M.F.M. (Master of Fashion Management)

You should have either of the two:
 

• Undergraduate Degree from any Institute / University recognised by law in India.
• Undergraduate Diploma of minimum three years duration from NIFT / NID.

ELIGIBILITY FOR MASTER PROGRAMME - TECHNOLOGY

M.FTech. (Master of Fashion Technology)

You should have either of the two:
 

• B.F.Tech. from NIFT
• B.E / B.Tech. from any Institute / University recognised by law in India.

How to Apply
 

• The prospectus can be obtained from selected branches of Axis & IDBI banks across the country on payment of Rs.250/-. (Refer to NIFT website for the list of branches) 
• The prospectus can also be obtained from any of the NIFT centres by hand for Rs. 250/- or by post on payment of Rs.350 by way of demand draft in favour of NIFT payable at New Delhi.
