NIFT 2017 Exam Pattern

The NIFT 2022 examination is slated to be conducted on February 12, 2022. It is conducted to invite interested and eligible candidates for admission into its undergraduate and postgraduate professional programmes in fashion and technology. Candidates are advised to start preparing for their exam much in advance. To get a clear understanding of the paper, it is important to know the NIFT 2022 exam pattern and syllabus.

NIFT 2022 Exam Pattern

Given below are a few important points related to NIFT 2022 exam pattern-

1. The examination will be conducted in offline mode (pen-paper based)
2. The exam will be divided into two parts, General Ability test (GAT) and Creative Ability Test (CAT)
3. The total number of questions in the paper will be 150.
4. Test duration will be 2 hours (120 minutes.
5. There will be no negative marking in the paper.
6. All UG and PG programmes will take CAT and GAT exam.

NIFT 2022 Test Structure

General Ability Test (GAT) for Bachelor of Technology  (B.F.Tech), Master of Fashion Management (MFM), Master of Design (M.Des) and Master of Fashion (M.F.Tech) will consist of the following sections-

• Quantitative Ability
• Communication Ability and English Comprehension
• Analytical Ability
• General knowledge and current affairs
• Case Study

General Ability Test (GAT) for Bachelor of Design (B.Des) and Master of Design (M.Des)-

Creative Ability Test (CAT) is administered to judge the intuition skills, power of innovation, and observation in a development of a concept and design ability of the candidate. An important factor of the test is the creative use of colours and illustration skills.

The reservation for different categories is given below-

• SC- 15%
• ST- 7.5%
• OBC (Non-Creamy)- 27%
• Differently Abled Person (PHP)-  3%
• Foreign Nationals/SAARC/NRI- 15%
• State Domicile- 20%
