News 24x7 Workshop at BESC Kolkata

The Bhawanipur Education Society College (BESC), University of Calcutta organized a News 24x7 workshop on 5^th October 2015.

The workshop was conducted and headed by Mr. Chawm Ganguly. The main aim of the workshop was to familiarize the students about the 4Ws (what, when, where, who) and 1H (how) of a newspaper. He used a power point presentation to explain the same.

The presentation highlighted the following:

• Objectives of newspaper reading
• Types of newspapers available in India
• Content of newspaper
• Responsibilities of the reporters
• Digital reading on various gadgets like cell phones
• Reasons for decline of newspaper reading

A question and answer session was also conducted post the discussion and presentation.

Professor Dilip Shah concluded the workshop giving examples of how reading newspapers really helps an individual. It was a great learning experience for all.
