National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) has scheduled to conduct National Talent Scholarship Examination stage 1 exam in three day November window 2022 and NTSE stage 2 exam in May 2022.
NTSE exam is conducted in two stages, one is a state level exam and second is the national level exam that only stage one qualified students, attempt.
NCERT has scheduled to conduct NTSE stage –I exam on 5, 6, 13 November, 2022 for different states and the national NTSE exam on May 14, 2022.
NTSE 2022 Eligibility Criteria
Candidates studying class X from recognised pvt./govt. schools are eligible to appear for this national-level scholarship exam.
Applicants need to get their NTSE application form signed by school principal in a way giving authentication of scholarship.
There will be no domicile restriction.
Students registered under Open Distance Learning (ODL) will also be eligible to appear, provided they are:
- under the age of 18
- First time applying
- Not working
Notably, only applicants who will qualify in Stage –I NTSE exam will be allowed to appear for Stage –II NTSE examination.
Apart from this, each state/UT is provided with a quota to recommend a specific no. of candidates for Stage –II examination.

The examination authority is still need to announce NTSE admit card release date and the NTSE 2022 results date.
Students are recommended to refer the NCERT official portal for further updates.
NTSE Application Forms 2022
- Visit the official website of NCERT
- In the ‘Programmes’ scroll down click on ‘National Talent Scholarship Examination’
- Register with NCERT
- Download the respective State NTSE Application Form
- Submit the application form duly signed by principal along with application fee receipt
- Keep a copy for future references
NCERT NTSE application forms 2022 will be differently available for each state as the state board will release separate NTSE 2022 application forms for its students.
Aspirants need to collect the forms from the state officers and submit NTSE forms before the last date of submission duly signed by the principal of the school.
Students interested to take scholarship exam 2022 also need to pay application fees while submitting the form online.
Notably, every state or Union Territory (UT) will have its different last date to submit NTSE application form.
NTSE 2022 Exam
Stage-I NTSE Exam
The Stage-I NTSE exam is conducted by states/UTs on separate days. Every applicant needs to appear initially for their respective state and then only they will be eligible to appear for stage-II examination.

Stage-II NTSE Exam
Only students who will be termed qualified in state level scholarship examination i.e. Stage-I NTSE exam 2022 will be allowed to appear for Stage-II NTSE exam.
This will be one day exam across the country and will bring out only candidates who will be awarded with the NTSE scholarship.
NTSE 2022 Exam Pattern
The NTSE test paper is a written examination and divided into two papers for stage-I as well as stage-II scholarship exam.
- Mental Ability Test (MAT)
- Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT)
Each test paper consists of objective-type questions and the applicant will be charged with 1 marks penalty on every wrong answer.
Interestingly, no negative marking is done in Stage –I scholarship exam.

- Visit the official website of NCERT www.ncert.nic.in
- Click on the link “Declaration of NTS-2022 result of withheld candidates”.
- Candidates are required to enter the roll number, date of birth and security code.
- Click on submit to get the result.
The stage-I NTSE results 2022 will be announced in February 2022 on the respective websites of the state.
Every state will declare its separate NTSE Stage –I result and all the state level NTSE qualified students will then be eligible to appear for NTSE stage –II exam (national-level)
NTSE stage-II results 2022 will be announced in JULY 2022 once the exam will be done in May.
NTSE Selection Procedure
Only applicants who will score qualifying marks in both NTSE Stage – I exam and NTSE Stage – II exam will be selected to be awarded with the NTSE scholarship.
NTSE Scholarship 2022
Candidates, who will qualify in both the stages of NTSE exam, will be awarded with NTSE scholarship.
NCERT provides 1000 scholarships every year, out of which 15% are reserved for SC category students, 7.5% for ST students and 3% for Physically Challenged group of students.
Also, awardees have to secure an aggregate of 60% marks or equivalent grade in order to be eligible for scholarship every year.
