National Workshop on Research Methodology by St. Xavier's College, Kolkata

National Workshop on Research Methodology using SPSS is being conducted by the Department of Commerce and Business Administration, St. Xavier’s (Autonomous) College, Kolkata from October 1, 2015 to October 8, 2015 sponsored by UGC in collaboration with Institute of Development Studies, Kolkata. This workshop is designed for Academicians, Research Scholars and Corporate Delegates. There is limited number of seats available through registration on the basis of first come first serve. The part takers are required to send the scanned copies of their registration forms by email to commercebba_workshop@sxccal.edu.

Objective of the Workshop:

·         To make aware the researchers on basic issues related to Research Methodology.

• To equip the audience by providing in-depth idea on development of tools for data collections, tabulation, analysis and interpretation of quantitative and qualitative data.
• To stipulate training on practical applications of Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS).
• Helping the researchers with the formulation of hypothesis.
• Discussion over the procedure for hypothesis testing.
• Learning the relevance and usage of Univariate, Bivariate and Multivariate tools of analysis.
• To acquire the knowledge of interpretation of the results.

The induction programme will consist of lectures along with the hands-on-experience. The topics which are to be covered are:

• Introduction of SPSS
• Estimation and Hypothesis Testing
• Bivariate Data Analysis
• Logistic Regression
• actor Analysis
• Cluster Analysis
• Conjoint Analysis
• Discriminant Analysis

Shortlisted candidates will be notified on/after September 3, 2015 by email or telephonically. Only the selected candidates are required to send the Demand Draft. Final selection list will be declared and published on September 3, 2015 on the college website. A Demand Draft with the required amount is to be made in the name of St. Xavier’s College payable at Kolkata.

NOTE: Participants are required to carry their own laptops.
