National Seminar organized by IGNOU – 2015

A one-day national seminar took place at the School of Law, Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) on November 26, 2015. This national seminar became more special because University also celebrated the 125th Birth anniversary of Dr. B. R. Ambedkar.

The Topic of the seminar was ‘The Preamble of the Constitution of India’. He assented to deliver the inaugural address on the theme “Constitutional debate on the Preamble of the Constitution of India “with special reference to the deliverance of Justice.

• National Seminar had following four technical sessions
• Sovereign, Socialist, Secular, Democratic, Republic w.r.t. constitution 42ndamendment Act, 1976 on the Preamble
• Justice: Social, Economic and Political
• Liberty of thought, Expression, Belief, Faith and Worship and
• Equality of Status and Opportunity & Fraternity. 

Illustrious personalities were presented at the seminar i) Subhash C. Kashyap, former Secretary-General, Lok Sabha (ii) Prof. G. Mohan Gopal, Director, Rajiv Gandhi Institute for Contemporary Studies, New Delhi, (iii) Prof. Sachidanandam, Former VC, Dr. Ambedkar Law University, Chennai & presently Visiting Prof., NLU Delhi, (iv) Prof. Parmanand Singh, Former Dean, Faculty of Law, University of Delhi and (v) Prof. BT Kaul, Chairperson, Delhi Judicial Academy, New Delhi and shared their views and thoughts on the topic

The national seminar aimed at various Preambular goals visualized at the time of framing of the Constitution of India on the one hand and also make a fair assessment of the realization of such ideals and goals enshrined in the Preamble of the Constitution of India in addition to finding out the reasons/obstacles, etc.
