Rakesh Aggarwal Memorial, National Law Debate on “Death Penalty: A True Punishment or an Easy Escape” is going to be organised on Tuesday, September 22, 2015 at Ideal Institute of Management and Technology and School of Law (Law School IIMT), New Delhi.

The Rakesh Aggarwal Memorial National Law Debate Competition is an annually by IIMT School of Law on contemporary issues of legal importance.

A team of two candidates from each University/Institute/College having LLB and BA LLB course shall be eligible to take part in the competition, one for the motion and one against the motion. The duly attested Registration Form by the concerned authority of the University/Institute/College in favour of the team is mandatory. Each speaker will have 5 (4+1) minutes in total for debate and there will one interjection. Extending the time limit will be counted as a disadvantage for the speaker.

Either of the two languages, Hindi or English can be used exclusively as per the speakers’ convenience. Each team should have been Registered the Organising Committee of National Law Debate.

The following awards and certifications will be awarded to the candidates:

  • Rakesh Aggarwal Memorial Trophy for the Winning Team
  • Rakesh Aggarwal Memorial Trophy for the 1st Runner-up Team
  • First Best Speaker: INR 5,100.00
  • Second Best Speaker: INR 3,100.00
  • Third Best Speaker: INR 2,100.00
  • Two Consolation Speakers: INR 1,100.00 each
  • Memento and Certificate for participation for all the participants.
