National Environment Awareness Campaign 2013 at LPU

Lovely Professional University organised National Environment Awareness Campaign on September 17, 2013.

Campaign was organized in relation to biodiversity and conservation of medicinal plants of Punjab State. Ministry of Environment (Government of India) & Punjab State Council for Science & Technology (PSCST), Chandigarh, had sanctioned this project to LPU.

Emphasised on acute need of conservation of medicinal plants in the Punjab state, LPU Pro Chancellor Ms Rashmi Mittal congratulated two professors of LPU, Dr Sanjeev Chandel and Dr Joginder Panwar, who are at the helm of the project.

Dr S S Ladhar, Joint Director (PSCST), Dr Sanjeev Chauhan (Punjab Agriculture University, Ludhiana) and Dr Avninder Kaur (GNDU, Amritsar) were the prominent speakers who gave their valuable speech on the use of medicinal plants and vermin-composting.

Medicinal plants were distributed to the farmers. Trees were planted by different faculty members from Departments of Biotech, Bio-sciences and Pharmacy
