Mumbai University to introduce 25 new courses from the session 2014-15

Once the application is received by the university, a senate member and the management council will assess the infrastructure, accreditations & facilities of the college. Those colleges, which fulfil all the norms will be allowed to initiate the courses. However, if everything goes fine, the students can see these courses soon as a part of the MU programme from 2014 session itself. The new courses from MU comprise of management and environment management and economics fields. To formulate the syllabus, experienced professionals from the Bombay Port Trust, Air India and shipping companies were invited.

As per the Dean of Faculty of Commerce Mr. Madhu Nair, other courses such as, investment management will tap the vast market of capital investments and stock trading. A single MMS degree course will be offered with specialization in Pharmacy & Healthcare Management that is a tailor-made course for the students having interest in management as well as medical field. This program will enhance student’s skill to deal with hospital related operations such as financial, infrastructural, marketing, HR & administrative. According to the university administrator, this course has a huge scope and value in the current scenario. In this two years programme, students will also have to undergo with compulsory four months internship and a month’s summer internship.
