To fight back from the low placement records & outdated syllabus, Mumbai University is going to introduce 25 new courses from 2014 to target employability and interdisciplinary fields . The Board of College and University Development (BCUD) have already approved the new courses by MU and the Ministry of Education has been informed regarding this. To introduce the new courses, an application has been forwarded to the Government of Maharashtra. According to the Pro Vice Chancellor, Mumbai University Mr Naresh Chandra, they are waiting for a positive response from the government.
Colleges can choose the courses they want to introduce once the proposal is accepted. Colleges will have to send an application to the university regarding this.
