Feeling the urge for sports, fitness and skill development, Manav Rachna International University (MRIU) recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Sports, Physical Education, Fitness and Leisure Skills Council (SPEFL-SC) as a training partner for skill courses to be conducted by Sports Physical Education Fitness and Leisure Skills Council.
Dr. N.C Wadhwa, Vice Chancellor, MRIU signed the Memorandum of Understanding with Dr. Satish Aparajit, CEO SPEFL-SC in the presence of Dr. G.L Khanna, Dean FAS, MRIU and Member Governing Council of SPEFL-SC.
The aim of this agreement is to establish a partnership for conveying employable skill training to the youth in one or more of the several occupations related to the sports sector. MRIU would conduct the skill training courses in Sports Masseur, Physical Trainer, Grass Root level Coach, Physical Activity Trainer, Sports Nutrition by collaborating with the International partners.
SPEFL-SC, is a sports skill development council funded by the Government of India through National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC). The council is primarily engaged in the domain of skill development for the Sports, Physical Education, Fitness and Leisure Industry Sector.
In collaboration with SPEFL-SC. MRIU will conduct research, develop training course curriculum and training modules, train the trainers, assessment and certification of trainers and students. MRIU will aim to promote skill development by catalysing creation of large, quality, for-profit vocational institutions.
