A two day Shah-i-Hamdan (RA) moot competition took place at the University of Kashmir on Novmember, 5, 2015 Thursday. The competition was arranged by the Law Society of the University’s Department.
The chief guest for this grand occasion was Member State Accountability Commission, Justice (retd) Bashir Ahmad Kirmani
Total 12 teams took part in the competition and only four teams managed to reach in the semi-finals. Out of the four teams Kashmir Law College and Central University of Kashmir teams entered in the finals.
But after hours of argument and counter arguments Central University of Kashmir lifted the winning trophy and Kashmir Law College emerged remained as a runner-up team.
The moot court team also bagged the best memorial award. The team comprised Sabeel Kawoosa, Mohsina Irshad and Taqwah Yousuf, of BA, LLB, 9th Semester, and was mentored by Assistant Professor, Mir Mubashir
Dean and Head, Faculty of Law, Prof Mohammad Ayoub Dar, said the Competition was held to enhance advocacy skills of students.
KU Vice-Chancellor Prof Khurshid Iqbal Andrabi presided over the final session of the Competition and gave away prizes among winners and runners-up teams, best advocates, best researchers etc.
