MIRANDA HOUSE KNOWLEDGE POOL TO INCREASE WITH THE HIRING OF MORE PROFESSORS

Delhi University is often criticized for not recruiting adequate number of teachers. But, this latest move of DU has silenced its critics. Miranda House, one of the premier colleges of the university, has invited applications for the post of the Assistant Professor and the number is as high as 41, including all the departments.

The elementary education subject requires the most number of professors and has 6 vacancies to offer. It is followed by Mathematics and Political Science that offer 5 posts each. English and Physics offer 4 vacancies. Apart from these, there are vacancies available in Botany, Chemistry, Computer Science, Zoology, Physical Education, Hindi, History, Philosophy and Zoology.

The prospective candidates should possess a Master’s degree with a minimum of 50% marks from a recognized institution and are also required to qualify for NET(National Eligibility Test) conducted by the UGC or a state level equivalent recognized by the UGC. The Pay Band-III of Rs 15,600-39,100 with academic grade pay Rs 6,000 will be followed for the mentioned posts.
