Crowned with a lofty rank on the list of Best Arts Colleges in India, Miranda House is one of the most sought after colleges of the mighty Delhi University. Now that I stand proud as a ‘Mirandian’, it’s only natural that I list down why you should be jealous of ‘my’ (I hope you can ‘sense’ the fierce sense of loyalty) college!
And just FYI, I love making lists, so here goes another one.
1. North Campus!
If you’re a student fresh out of school or in college already, you know exactly what I’m talking about. North Campus is often referred to as the most ‘happening’ place of the Delhi University. Being ‘on’ campus is something everybody dreams of, but only a few lucky ones actually get to witness it. Like me, of course.
Jealous already? :P
2. Academics
Miranda House can boast of some of the best teaching departments of the University. The Humanities and Social Sciences section of the college are among the most experienced in the University, having pioneered the introduction of science courses for women in the Delhi University.
3. Infrastructure
Let’s just say, infrastructure isn’t exactly a forte for DU colleges, but some colleges like Miranda constitutes the few exceptions. The college infrastructure is very good as compared to other colleges and their well-maintained lawns? Okay, that has to be another point altogether.
4. Co curricular activities
Whether it may be dramatics, dance, music, or debating, Miranda House brags about the entire college being abuzz with the passionate and vibrant patter of budding actors, journalists, singers, writers, painters, social workers and political activists throughout the year!
5. Annual Fest: Tempest
One of the biggest fests of the Delhi University, Tempest fulfills every promise of being amazing! You get to spend those two days of your life in the best way possible!
6. Lawns
The lovely lawns make my face light up with glee because going to a college where I get to sit on the grass, read a book, and watch the majestic clouds float by was always a dream. And I still can’t believe it’s about to transform into reality in another two days!

7. Library
Their library collection is so good that before you know it, you’ll be lost in the world of literature.
I swear I could go on, but I’m being terribly rebuked for my habit of murdering the word limit every single time. So I shall stop.
