Mining Engineering Department, IIT Kharagpur introduces short term course

Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur is conducting a short term course from March 6-8, 2014.

This course is intruded by Mining Department of IIT, Kharagpur on “Mine Closure Planning and Post Mining Mine Site Restoration: CSR-EMP Integration”.

The course will be helpful and meant for top and middle level mine mangers as well as mine environment and CSR managers. The PR Officer will also be benefitted by this course and will get new approach of dealing with PAP and R&R issues.

Course includes:

• Mine closure planning- concept of methodology

• Corporate social responsibility-Strategies & performance evaluation

• Vetver system technology for slope stabilization, vegetation development and catchment area management

• Integration of CSR & EMP-ways and innovation: A nature to nature approach

Course outcome:

After going through this course participants will be able to:

• Redesign mine closure plan based on their mine closure policy

• Develop post mining mine site restoration alternatives

• Develop execution programme for vetiver system implementation

• Explain the vetiver system implementation

• Draw a layout and intimate programme for CSR and EMP integration in specific site

• Design implementation programme for Miyawaki Method

• Discuss alternative post mining revenue generation near mining areas

Course Fee:

Course fee of Rs. 20, 000 must be sent as DD in favour of “CEP-STC, IIT, Kharagpur” payable at Kharagpur. The course fee doesn’t include boarding and lodging charges.
