Mudra Institute of Communication Ahmedabad (MICA) has announced that MICAT 2012 will be conducted on 4th March, 2012. Dr. Shubhra P Gaur, MICAT Chairperson, has confirmed the same to click4college.com.
MICAT is the exam conducted by Mudra Institute of Communication Ahmedabad (MICA) for students who are applying for the flag-ship course of MICA: "Post-graduate Programme Diploma in Management (Communications): PGDM-C". After a hiatus of two years, MICA has started using CAT scores again to shortlist students for MICAT 2012.
Whoever has taken CAT 2011 will be eligible to take MICAT 2012.
MICAT 2012 Exam Pattern
The pattern of MICAT 2012 would be more or less the same as in previous years. However, Dr. Gaur told click4college.com that there would be one change in MICAT 2012: There won't be any Verbal and Quantitative ability sections. Since CAT 2011 already assesses these two abilities, MICA would be using CAT 2011 scores for Verbal & Quantitative abilities sections.
MICAT is designed to assess analytical ability, divergent thinking, written communication skills and general awareness about the communications industry.
There are no standard cut-offs in the MICAT. Test takers must attempt and complete all sections of the test satisfactorily to qualify for GD and PI.
MICAT 2012 would be a paper-pencil exam designed to test the candidate’s aptitude and orientation towards communications management as a profession. MICAT 2012 exam pattern is tentatively going to be as follows:
- Part 1 of MICAT usually has reasoning, general awareness and quantitative ability or data interpretation and logical reasoning and verbal ability. This part of the test has ¼ negative marking. MICAT 2012 will no longer have the quantitive & verbal ability section, as already mentioned.
- Part 2 is of MICAT is usually a psychometric test
- Part 3 is a creative ability test
