The National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) rankings for Indian Universities were released by the MHRD minister Prakash Javadekar in a press conference, yesterday.The list released by NIRF ranks the top Universities in India for the current year 2022.
A total of 2,375 educational institutions participated this year for the NIRF rankings. However, the number is lower as compared to last year’s 3,563 participants.
The list of the top 10 universities in India has been released, and the full list will be available for viewing on 10 April 2022 i.e. next Monday.
The Ministry of Human Resource and Development has also released a subject wise ranking of various Indian Educational institutions. Mr. Javadekar spoke at the press conference and said that the NIRF has improved its evaluation to give a better idea of higher education institutes of India. These rankings will provide students with an insight into and a better understanding of the higher education scene in India. Mr. Javadekar also said that the NIRF rankings will assist the Indian education institutes in gaining a global recognition. He further added that these rankings will also play a role in the grants provided to the institutes by the MHRD. The universities with better ranking will be provided with better grants and this would lead to a healthy competition among colleges, which in turn will lead to better education standards for the students.
