Maharashtra TET 2013 Admit Cards available between 26 November – 14 December

This is for the first time in the history of Maharastra Government that TET Exam is going to be conducted in 2013. The Maharashtra Teachers Eligibility Test 2013 (MH TET 2013) will be conducted by Maharashtra State Council of Examination (MSCE).

The online registration for the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) closed on Monday November 18, 2013. The submission of forms, which is mandatory for the candidates on the premises of the Kolhapur Zilla Parishad (ZP) was also closed on November 15, 2013. And the issuance of admit cards for Maharashtra TET 2013 begins today, 26 December and will continue till 14 December, 2013.

Who can apply for MH TET 2013?

TET is an Indian entrance examination for teachers. The test is mandatory for prospective teachers for Class 1 till Class 8. Paper I is meant for teachers opting for Class I to Class V and Paper II for Class VI to Class VIII. It is conducted by both Central government and State governments in India.
It is mandatory for all B. Ed qualified candidates to be considered for teachers jobs in schools run by the government.

The TET Exam has been scheduled on December 15, 2013. The Maharashtra State Council of Examination (MSCE) had published its advertisement on October 17, inviting online applications from the interested candidates so that maximum amount of forms can be received.

Certain beneficiary measures have been introduced by Zila Parishad this time to tackle the heavy rush and to manage for smooth going of the form submission process. There are two additional form submission booths started so that waiting in queue hours could be minimized. During the first week of form submission, the absence of separate queue for women also caused havoc. Keep it all in mind Parishad had decided to make arrangement for separate submission booths.

Eligibility criteria for MH TET 2013

• Anybody who has acquired academic & professional qualification as per guidelines in the Government of Maharashtra Resolution dated Feb 13, 2013.

• Anybody pursuing any of the teacher education courses (recognised by appropriate authority) as stated in the Government of Maharashtra Resolution dated Feb 13, 2013

• Anybody who scores 60% or more will be considered MH TET pass

The state had said the test would help filter the best candidates from the rest and that public and private schools will be allowed to recruit only those teachers who have cleared the test. At present, there are 3, 38, 658 sanctioned posts of teachers in Maharashtra of which 32,746 are vacant.

The introduction of the test will open up lots of job opportunities in the state.

Syllabus for MHTET 2013

The syllabus for the TET exam will be based on secondary and higher secondary school education. The TET will imply strict educational qualification with 60% score for General category students and 55% for reserved category students. Students clearing the exam will get certificates valid for seven years. Existing teachers are not required to sit in the exam. This is only applicable for those aspiring to become a teacher.

According to Maharashtra government, MH TET certificate will be valid for seven years. Candidates also have the provision to appear again for improving his/her Maharashtra TET score.

So this test matters a lot to the aspirants looking for employment in government schools in Maharashtra. Since Maharashtra TET is going to be held for the first time in Maharashtra, a record number of 5 lakh aspirants have applied for the test. A remarkable reform in terms of education and employment can be expected if the tradition will be continued for coming years also.
