Mahamaya Technical University to Open a Placement Cell

MTU University officials explained that the placement cell will work in three primary phases. Colleges associated with the university will form their own placement committees constituting of Training Placement Officers (TPO). These committees will be responsible for listing of different committees interested in placing the students and also preparing a list of students studying in the college in each course. These lists will then be sent to the university. A centralized placement will be held in the university and there will also be a placement monitoring committee to oversee the work of individual college committees.

The university vice chancellor, SK Kak said, "Engineering doesn't have the same promise of jobs that it had previously. There are decreased employment opportunities now and there are quite a few students who pass out without a job," Kak said. This is the reason why the university has made this move.
