Lively v/s Serious !

“Being serious is never fun; a dampening spirit is never healthy, Pessimism never allows a man step up to higher rungs of the success ladder in life. In short – All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy.”

Subtleness and Serenity is one thing but when you become serious aka stolid; that doesn’t work in current times. You might be taken for at even lower than face value; there is now a call for enthusiasm, liveliness and energetic activities.

But I wonder is stolidity a mark of weakness? Or are we assuming that the lively characters are the ones who succeed in life.

I think about my own (ex) classmates to contemplate upon the issue – whether we have to be lively to be successful or being serious is a grave drawback. There were many in my class who were lively but other than amusing themselves and a few others, they couldn’t achieve much. But many stolid ones has shown that they do have something inside them!

Achieving, I speak of in the literal sense; when you do something to be applauded for; not necessarily in the academic sense.

And I come to a final conclusion – whether you need to be lively or subtle doesn’t at all matter; what matters is entirely your passion. Anything you are passionate about; you need to excel in it; put your skills and passion to good use.

So, it comes around to the same thing - Passion.
