Leading a Bookmarked Life

Though I am not a psychology student, I do believe in some facets of life. In fact, I believe in some bookmarks of our life (aka book) which do matter; which are worth reading, Ahem, being remembered. Confused?

Let’s keep it simple. We do have a vast memory; we remember many things that happened with us; either pleasant or horrible. To cut it short to one word – reminiscences.

Any wizard or witch from the Harry Potter series was required to concentrate on a happy memory, muster confidence and then say the incantation “Expecto Patronum”. If the memory was strong enough, a corporeal patronous would be emitted from the tip of wand; shooing the dementors away. (By now, you must have discovered I am a Harry Potter fan, right? Are you too?) This is what memories are for; warding off your sad moments in life.

Happy or sad, let’s list some of the common memories:

1. First time being scolded by the teacher:

Starting off with a bitter one, I am sure most of us remember the first time we were reprimanded by a teacher; the tears shed and the mutinous face made later.

2. Meeting your Best Friend:

Remember the first time when you felt warmth inside you being with one person?  Your best friend with whom you shared everything? Ah! You do remember the first meeting!

3. Doing something good :

Like maybe donating some money, helping the needy or some charitable work you did, the pleasure derived always makes you smile in happiness.

4. First time in a scuffle :

Reaching home with scratches, minor wounds and a grumpy mood; the first time when you showcased you so-sweet-temper in public.

5. In the Limelight:
   
   The first time when you won laurels for your school or did achieve anything (Like me being a HT CJ!); this is something which you savour throughout your life.
