Karnataka TET 2016 Eligibility Criteria

Karnataka Teacher Eligibility Test 2022, also known as KAR TET 2022, is a state-level exam examination, which is mandatory for teachers for getting teaching jobs in government schools in the state of Karnataka. It is conducted by the Centralised Admission Cell (CAC), Bangalore, which comes under the Government of Karnataka.

The test is designed to filter candidates appointed as teachers to set a standard and benchmark for acquiring quality candidates through the recruitment process.

Karnataka TET 2022 Eligibility Criteria

For becoming a Primary School Teacher (Class I-V): Paper I

Candidates need to fulfil the following criteria to be eligible for KAR TET 2022-

• PUC/10+2 /equivalent with minimum 50% marks
• Passed/appearing in the final year exam of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education/ 4-year Bachelors degree in Elementary Education/ 2-year Diploma in Special Education
• B.A/ B.Sc graduates who have passed and are appearing in the final year exam of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education

For becoming a Elementary School Teacher (Class VI- VII): Paper II

Candidates need to fulfil the following criteria to be eligible for KAR TET 2022-

• B.A/ B. Sc Graduates with minimum 50% marks and are appearing in the final year exam of 1-year Bachelors in Elementary Education/ B. Ed in Special Education

OR

• B.A/ B. Sc Graduates who have passed and are appearing in the final year exam of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education
• PUC/10+2 / Equivalent with minimum 50% marks and have either passed or are appearing in the final year of 4-year Bachelors in Elementary Education/ BA/ B.Sc.Ed/ B.A.Ed

For becoming a School Teacher for Class I - VIII): Paper I & Paper II

Candidates need to fulfil the following criteria to be eligible for KARTET 2022-

• PUC/10+2 /equivalent with minimum 50% marks and Passed/appearing in the final year exam of 4-year Bachelors degree in Elementary Education
• B.A/ B. Sc Graduates with minimum 50% marks and are appearing in the final year exam of 2-year Bachelors in Elementary Education

Note: 5% relaxation will be provided to candidates belonging to SC/ST/C-I/PWD category.
