The Department of Geography, Jamia Millia Islamia is all set to conduct a three weeks training programme in Geospatial Technology from June 2-23, 2014. The course will be coordinated by Prof. Masood Ahsan Siddiqui.
During the session participants from Geography, Environmental Science, Civil Engineering and Military Science from Colleges and Universities will be trained. First week will be devoted to develop theoretical understanding of technology. Second week will focus on theoretical and practical aspects of technology. The third week will be exclusively on application of Geospatial technology using open source software like Quantum GIS and SAGA. The participants are expected to prepare a small project on the specified theme.
Important Note:
- There are only a maximum of 25 seats
- The applicant must be a teaching faculty
- Those who have attended any such programme of one week or more than one week during the last one year will not be considered
- Admission to the programme is on first cum first basis.
- Leave is not allowed during training
- Only one participant from one institution is invited. This condition is not applicable to the host institution
- Research student may be given chance if any vacancy remains vacant but the selection will be made on merit cum need basis
