Students who were anxiously waiting for their Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2015 results were relieved when the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on Monday, April 27, 2015 published the results on its official website.
CBSE conducts this national level engineering entrance exam to shortlist candidates for admission to centrally-funded institutions such as the National Institute of Technology (NIT) and others. The JEE (Main) exam, which was conducted online and offline, also acts the first screening test for Indian Institute of Technology (IITs). The JEE (Advanced) exam is the final round for the battle to the IITs.
The Joint Entrance Examination (JEE Main) 2015 offline exam was conducted on April 4 whereas the online test was held on Friday, April 10 and Saturday, April 11, 2015. Approximately 12.5 lakh students appeared for the JEE Main 2015.
Out of nearly 13 lakh aspirants, only 1.5 lakh students will be eligible to qualify for the next round i.e. JEE (Advanced). CBSE recently issued a notification informing that the registrations for JEE Advanced 2015 will begin on May 2, and end on May 7. Qualified candidates should note the same.
Eligibility Criteria:
- The candidates must have qualified in the JEE Main 2015 and should be among the top 150000 (including all categories).
- The candidate should have been born on or after October 1, 1990 in case of GEN or OBC-NCL candidates, and the candidate should have been born on or after October 1, 1995 in case the candidates belongs to SC/ST or PWD category.
- The candidates can attempt JEE advance only two times and that too in two consecutive years. That means those candidates who have appeared for JEE Advance in 2014 can also appear in 2015, but not in 2022, and the candidates who are appearing for the exam in 2015, can also appear in 2022 but not in 2022.

The candidates appearing in JEE advance 2015 must have appeared in class 12th or equivalent examinations in all subjects for the first time in 2014 or 2015.

Admit Card Availability – May 11 to 14, 2015
JEE Advanced 2015 exam – May 24, 2015
