Jamia Millia Islamia University to conduct national conference on October, 2013

Jamia Millia Islamia University will conduct a national conference on October 23-24, 2013. Topic of this conference is Science in Society and Development: Nehru and beyond

University will organize it in joint collaboration with Vigyan Parasar, Department of Science & Technology, Government of India.

This National Conference will provide a platform for focus on the interface of Science, Society and Development in post-independence contemporary history. It Considers contemporary debates on the

• Role of science and technology in national development,

• Cultivation of scientific temper

• Impact of spread of science and technology in both its institutional and ideological aspects.

Academics and policy makers are invited to deliberate at the conference. Participants should submit original papers that will refereed by a panel of well recognised experts. These papers are expected to be published as a volume on the proceedings.

Important dates for the conference:

• Last date for submission of full paper: August 16, 2013

• Announcement of the final programme: August 30, 2013
