Indian School of Business, Hyderabad or ISB is an institute with global recognition which has once again been placed in the Top twenty B-Schools in the world for its Postgraduate Programme, as per the latest rankings announced by "The Financial Times".
Stanford Graduate School of Business topped the rankings, while the only other Indian management school, IIM-A, is ranked 11th.
The rankings are based on a B-School’s performance three years prior to the current year, meaning the latest ranking is based on factors which governed the institute in 2008-09.
ISB had 400 plus students in 2008, up from 126 in its starting year. Currently, the total strength is of 570 students. The average placement salary in 2008 was Rs 20 lakh based on global Purchasing Power Parity rates.
A point to note though is that depsite figuring amongst the best B-Schools, ISB has dropped seven places, from 13th in 2011. Sriram Gopalakrishnan, Director, Marketing and Communications, ISB, said, “We continue to do high quality research on management studies. The outcome of rankings is not predictable. Since we have been able to maintain the top 20 slot, there is no reason to fear.”
