Inspire Internship Program 2013 at Amity University

The five-day Inspire Internship program sponsored by Department of Science & Technology, Government of India, was conducted successfully by Amity University Rajasthan from December 16-20, 2013.

The program was inaugurated by Prof. L. K. Maheshwari, former Vice Chancellor, BITS Pilani, and Prof. S. K. Dube, Hon'ble Vice Chancellor AUR. Prof. Dube welcomed participants on behalf of the Hon'ble Founder President and the Hon'ble Chancellor (AUR) and followed it with an inspiring and vibrant talk.

During the event, 12 eminent scientists, included three Shanti Swaroop Bhatnagar Awardees, gave informative lectures to 200 student participants. Besides lectures, science workshops and hands-on-training were organized for the students under the guidance of AUR Faculty. A Science Quiz was also held on the occasion.

The Valedictory session was chaired by Dr. A. Mukhopadhyay, Scientist G DST, and Advisor to Government of India. Certificates and awards were also distributed during the session. The five-day event concluded with a Vote of Thanks by Prof. G. K. Aseri, Coordinator Inspire 2013. He acknowledged the contribution of the organizing committee (Dr. Manali Dutta, Dr. Jagdip Singh Sohal, Dr. Vinod Singh Gour, Mr. Anuj Arora, Dr. Deepshikha Bhargava, Dr. Shikha Sharma, Prof. Neeraj Kumar, Dr. Anupam Jyoti, Ms. Ritu Bhal, Ms. Rajbala and Mr. Vikas) for planning and executing the different aspects of Inspire 13.

Dr. S.C. Gupta gave a practical demonstration. Prof. S. K. Dube, Hon'ble Vice Chancellor AUR, gave a prize to a student. The Valedictory session was in progress. Prof. S. K. Dube, Hon'ble Vice Chancellor AUR, presented a memento to the Chief Guest Prof. L. K. Maheshwari, former Vice Chancellor, BITS Pilani. The Chief Guest Prof. L. K. Maheshwari, former Vice Chancellor, BITS Pilani, lighted up the lamp at the inauguration of Inspire 2013.

Students lined up at the Inspire Registration Counter on the day. A group of photographs of the students who participated in Inspire 2013 were taken with the Hon VC, Hon PVC, organizing committee members and speakers. Students were given a demonstration at an AUR lab. Prof Neeraj Kumar delivered a talk to the students.
