INSIGNIA: Tech fest of Guru Nanak Dev University

 

 

 

 

With an aim to empower students technically and bring out hidden talents of the students, ESS Committee of Guru Nanak Dev University, GNDU, Jalandhar organised the most awaited INSIGNIA 2015 between April 9-11, 2015.

 

The hard work and dedication of students for over a month had come down to the first and starting day of the techfest. It is a 3-day fest held every year and organised by only the Student Committee of the college.

 

The college fest started with the Inauguration Ceremony by the College Dean and HOD of the B.Tech Dept., Mr. Jyoteesh Malhotra. The lamp was lit and HOD officially declared the start of the events of fest.

 

This was followed by registration of the students of others colleges who also eagerly waited to take part in the fun and technical events.

The main attraction of the day was the Beverage Sponsor of our fest- RED BULL and also the BHANGRA performed by 26 students of B. Tech (1st and 2nd year).

The credit goes to Gagandeep Bhatia and Vinit Gupta of B. Tech CSE 3rd year for bringing for Red Bull as sponsors. Red Bull cans were distributed among the organizers and also the participants of various other events.

"Bhangra, the liveliest dance form and Red Bull, the most energetic drink- when brought together, turned into an explosive atmosphere."

Since every event in Punjab is incomplete without the lively folk music and dance, the students of B. Tech 1st and 2nd year prepared a mind blowing Bhangra performance for the first day of the techfest.

Abhinav Bali of B.Tech3rd year coordinated and guided all the students throughout their practice sessions. Savleen Kaur and Harleen Kahlon of B. Tech Dept. also helped the students throughout. The performance was held in Basketball Court of the college with audience of around 100 students from all four sides. The students gave their best and the hooting and clapping couldn't stop even in the scorching sun. All the students performed gracefully and there were waves of praise from all sides.

After the energetic guest performance, it was time for the Fashion Show - VERVE. The winning team from Law Dept depicted "Unity in Diversity" and the runner-up team was of B. Tech (1st year) with a theme of "Save the Waste". With the end of fashion show, Day 1 of INSIGNIA came to an end.
