Indian Students Top as MBA Seekers in B-schools Abroad

Indian students are at the top when it comes to applying for MBA courses offered at Business schools abroad. China and USA grab the second and third positions respectively.

As per the 2022 survey report carried out on application trends of 216 graduate B-schools across the globe, India houses the maximum number of international applicants for one-year and two-year MBA courses.

The report of the survey conducted by Graduate Management Admission Council (GMAC) stated that about 49% of B-schools offering one-year full-time MBA courses witnessed a rise in the number of international applicants this year as compared to 2015.

On the other hand, about 70% of the B-schools offering two-year full-time MBA courses offer admission to international students. Moreover, such candidates belonging to India, China and USA are given priority for outreach and are offered admission to most of the one-year MBA or Masters in Management or Finance courses.

Amongst the overall increase in the number of applications globally, European business schools saw the maximum number of applications for MBA or related courses with a rise in 65% of such schools. 46% B-schools in USA and 41% in Southeast & East Asian countries also saw a rise in the number of applications received.

The report also revealed that the popularity of one-year MBA, online MBA and executive MBA courses have witnessed a growth with an increased number of applications. On the contrary, two year full-time MBA, part-time MBA and flexible MBA courses saw a decline worldwide.

Speaking on the survey report, CEO of GMAC Sangeet Chowla stated that the demand for B-schools is growing with the creation of tailored management courses including Masters in Data Analytics.
