Indian Students Celebrate Exam Success with ACCA

Students from Mumbai, Ahmedabad and Bangalore are celebrating after achieving the highest marks in their final examinations with the global body for finance professionals, ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants).

The highest placed student from India in the ACCA examinations held in June 2015 is 23-year-old Mr. Dhaval Padhiyar, of Ghatkopar East, Mumbai, who achieved a total mark of 332 from a possible 500 marks in his final papers.

The second placed student is Mr. Maulik Khetia, aged 25, of Vejalpur, Ahmedabad, who achieved 330 marks in his final examinations.

The third highest mark was achieved by Mr. Johan Varghese Andrews, aged 24, of Jeevan Bheema Nagar, Bangalore, who scored 318 in his final exams.

All three have not only completed their ACCA exams, enabling them to take a major step towards becoming professional accountants, but they also finished in the top 70 worldwide in terms of marks achieved in the final papers of the ACCA Qualification, which is benchmarked as being equivalent to a UK Masters degree. The June 2015 examination sitting saw 7,886 students successfully pass their final exams, with 296,012 paper exams sat by 179,563 students at the June session.

Another student who is celebrating is Ms. Rhea Mathew, of Malleshwaram West, Bangalore, who achieved the fourth highest mark in the world in paper P7 – Advanced Audit and Assurance – scoring 83 marks, which also ensured she achieved the highest mark among students from India.

Mohammed Sajid Khan, Head of International Development with ACCA, said: “Completing the ACCA examinations is a fantastic achievement in itself, so excelling at these demanding exams is worthy of considerable praise. Our congratulations go not only to those who have achieved high marks, but to all those students who have passed papers or completed their examinations with us.

The content of ACCA’s examinations is constantly refreshed to reflect developments in accountancy and the changing responsibilities of professional accountants.  Our students are well-placed to continue to build on this success and, through a commitment to life-long learning and development, add value to their organisations and clients.”

ACCA is introducing four exam sessions a year, starting in September 2015 in a number of ACCA’s larger markets, before rolling out globally in 2022.  This means that from 2022, all ACCA students will be able to take exams in March, June, September and/or December. Students can plan their studying to suit their work and personal commitments so maximising their chance of success.
