IMS Unison University, Dehradun Organizes Kathak Dance Competition

IMS Unison University (IUU), Dehradun, Uttarakhand organized a SPIC-MACAY event with the leading Kathak Dancer- Ms. Gauri Diwakar on 25^th August 2015.

The event focused to contribute towards fostering the essence and importance of traditional Indian culture and Indian classical music among youth through the medium of educational institutions.



Ms. Gauri Diwakar performed in front of the students, the not only left them awestruck but also enlightened their dormant passion towards cultural activities that hold roots in India. Post her performance, she talked about the classical traditions of India that was yet another eye opener for the audience present, including students as well as faculty members.

Ms. Gauri Diwakar is a renowned classical dancer of her generation. She is the bearer of the prestigious Ustad Bismillah Khan Yuva Puruskar-2008. She has actively participated in various national and international dance festivals across the world including countries like Hungary, Mexico, Norway, Portugal etc.

IUU works towards imparting strong leadership qualities and a sense of team work among its students. It also focuses on the desire to excel along with increasing concern about the less fortunate among the students through activities contributing towards community service.
