Starting next semester, close to 100 students from Anna University will be sent to IIT Madras to help them gain diverse experience. Students who are studying in their fourth year, as well as PG students would be eligible to opt for an elective subject or course of their interest at IIT Madras.
Likewise, students from IIT Madras will be allowed to take up courses in Anna University. But, students would require a prior approval from the academic courses director before opting for courses in other colleges.
The director of Centre for Planning and Development, Anna University, J Kumar mentioned that there has been a formal memorandum of understanding (MoU) between Anna University and IIT Madras to enable student exchange. He also added that Anna University has many specialised course departments like remote sensing, printing technology and mining that would benefit many students from IIT Madras, providing a diverse experience through this MoU.
