IIT Gandhinagar Invites Applications for PhD programmes

Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Gandhinagar has released a notification to invite applications from the eligible and interested candidates for admission to Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) programme 2nd semester. Candidates can apply for various streams that include Language & Literature, Political Science, Psychology, Social Epidemiology, Computer Science and Engineering, Biological Engineering, Cognitive Science, Earth Sciences, Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Civil Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Philosophy, Electrical Engineering, History, Materials and Sociology for the session 2022.

How to Apply for IIT Gandhinagar’s PhD Course?

• Those who want to apply for any of the specialisations need to apply online.
• There is no application fee involved.
• Candidate need not send the hard copy of the application form.
• Candidates applying for more than one discipline are advised to submit separate application form for each discipline. Once the candidates click on the ‘Submit’ button, a confirmation screen will appear with a link to download the submitted application form. Candidates are advised to download, save and take the printout of the same.
• Candidates need to produce the furnished hardcopy of the application forms and all the documents at the time of interview failing which their candidature will not be considered.

IIT Gandhinagar PhD Course Selection Procedure

Those who want to pursue the PhD course from the IIT, Gandhinagar will be shortlisted and selected based on their academic credentials, written test and interview.

IIT Gandhinagar PhD Course Important Dates

• The interested candidates need to submit the application form before October 2, 2022.
• The list of shortlisted candidates will be announced on October 17, 2022.
• The date for written test and interview will be November 4, 2022 to November 7, 2022.

IIT Gandhinagar PhD Course and Financial Support

• Candidates who are to join the PhD programme as regular will be considered for the Institute Fellowship based on norms as follow:
• Candidates who have Post graduate degree in Basic Science with GATE/NET qualification or graduate degree in professional course (B.Tech/BE) with NET/GATE qualification or post graduate degree in the professional courses for that matter will be eligible for financial support of INR 25,000 per month.
• To top it all, candidates having qualification mentioned above with two years of research experience will be applicable for INR 28,000 of financial support.
