IIM Kozhikode Admission Criteria 2022-20 – Indian Institute of Management, Kozhikode has announced the admission criteria for Post-Graduation Programme (PGP) 2019-20 session. It includes the CAT 2022 cutoff and other criteria for the admission to PGP 2022-20 batch. As per IIM, Kozhikode, there are three stages of admission procedure. In the first stage, registration of candidates shortlisted on the basis of their CAT 2022 sectional and overall scores will be done. In the second stage, candidates will be called for Personal Interview, Group Discussion and Writing Ability Test. Candidates from each category will be shortlisted on the basis of an Aggregate Index Score (AIS). Based on the performance in CAT 2022, class 12th and bachelor’s degree and work experience, AIS will be calculated. The third stage of IIM Kozhikode Admission Criteria 2022, the final selection process will be done. Candidates will be offered the admission to IIM Kozhikode on the basis of their performance in entire CAT 2022 selection procedure.
IIM Kozhikode Admission Criteria 2022-20
IIM Kozhikode is counted among the top 6 IIMs. It has published the CAT 2022 cutoffs and weightages for each section in CAT exam. In the selection of final rounds, score of CAT 2022 will carry 75 percent of weightage, CAT 2022 percentile score will carry 35 percent weightage and the admission offer will rely more upon the GD/PI/WAT round which will have 60 percent weightage. IIM Kozhikode Admission Criteria 2022-20: Stage 1
Registration of candidates meeting the minimum eligibility criteria will be processed. In the first stage of IIM Admission Criteria 2022, the following minimum eligibility criteria will be applied to all those candidates who have opted for IIM Kozhikode.

Note –
- The percentage obtained in Class X and Class XII would be the aggregate marks of all subjects that present in the marks sheet regardless of whether the Board considers them for calculation of percentage.
- All candidates opted for IIM Kozhikode and meeting the above-mentioned minimum eligibility criteria will receive a call for online registration for admissions to IIM Kozhikode.
- The candidates who will successfully complete the registration process will only be eligible to attend the stage 2. Candidates should not misinterpret the registration round with the call for the interview process.
IIM Kozhikode Admission Criteria 2022-20 - Stage 2
Stage 2 of IIM Kozhikode selection criteria 2022 will include shortlisting the candidates for Personal Interview (PI), Group Discussion (GD) and Writing Ability Test (WAT) at IIM Kozhikode. After successfully completing the registration process of IIM Kozhikode, the second stage process will begin. Candidates will be called for personal interview (PI) and GD/WAT. Candidates will be shortlisted from each category based on an Aggregate Index Score (AIS). The AIS is computed on the basis of the performance in CAT 2022, Class XII, Bachelor’s degree marks and work experience. The weight of each component in the AIS is as follows:

IIM Kozhikode will decide the number of shortlisted candidates as per their choice and on the basis of batch size of IIM 2022-20. Candidates can check the details of each component below:
CAT Index Score
As per the IIM Kozhikode Admission Policy 2022, scaled scores from the three sections (with equal weightages) of CAT 2022 will be taken into consideration for the calculation of the CAT Index Score. In IIM Kozhikode Admission Criteria 2022, CAT 2022 Index Score will carry a weight of 75%.
HSC/ Class XII/Equivalent/Diploma Score
According to IIM Kozhikode Selection Criteria 2022-20, the percentage obtained in HSC/Class XII/Equivalent/Diploma score will be the aggregate of all subjects score given in the mark sheet. Any candidate having a score of 60% or below will get zero weightage. Any candidate having a score of 81% or above will get a maximum of 7.5%. The weightage of 7.5% is uniformly allotted to any candidate who will have a score between 60% and 81%.
Graduation Score
Following points will be kept in mind while calculating the graduation score:
- The candidates who have completed their graduation, the percentage of marks present in their mark sheet will be taken into consideration. If the Institute/University does not provide the percentage of marks, it will be calculated on the basis of the marks obtained in all subjects existing in the mark sheet
- If the percentage of marks given by Institute/University does not take into account marks obtained in all the subjects as mentioned in the mark sheet(s) for all the years, the candidates must produce a certificate from the Principal/Head of the Department/Registrar/Director of the university/institution certifying details of the practice, at the time of the GD/WAT-PI
- Percentage marks for candidates who are in final year of their graduation will be based on their available marks, certified by a Head of the institution. The Principal/Head of the Department/Registrar/Director of the university/institution has to certify that available marks are the latest marks; otherwise, the candidate will become ineligible for the graduation index score
- For candidates of 5-year dual degree course (BTech+MTech, BS+MS, BTech+MSc, etc.), the aggregate of marks of graduation or equivalent component will be considered for bachelor’s degree percentage.
- For those candidates who have cleared CA/ICWAI/CS without doing their graduation, their average of intermediate and final level marks will be considered as Bachelor’s degree marks.
- Board/Institute/University awards only letter grades instead of providing an equivalent percentage of score on the mark sheet, the candidate should get a certificate from the Board/Institute/University specifying the equivalent marks. The original equivalence certificate needs to be submitted at the time of GD/WAT-PI. Obtaining the equivalent certificate is the sole responsibility of candidates appearing in IIM Kozhikode admission criteria and procedure.
- If any board/University/institution confirms that there is no way for changing CGPA into equivalent marks, the equivalent score will be recognized by dividing the candidate's CGPA by the maximum possible CGPA, and multiplying the result with 100.
Work Experience
- Only fulltime remunerative work experience after graduation will be considered. Part-time / project / Internship/article ship / pre-graduation work experience should not be entered and will not be counted as work experience.
- Any candidate with graduation score of 60% or below gets zero weightage. Any candidate with a score 81% or above gets a maximum of 7.5%. The weightage of 7.5% is proportionately allotted for any candidate with a score of 60% and 81%. Work Experience Score Previous work/professional experience will carry a weight of up to 5% depending on the length of service as on January 31, 2022.
- A candidate with a work experience of 6 months or above will be eligible for work experience score.
Diversity Score
- To ensure diversity, marks are awarded for both gender diversity and academic diversity. Only female candidates are eligible for gender diversity.
- A candidate with any bachelor’s degree other than engineering/technology (B.Tech/BE) or equivalent will be eligible for academic diversity score.
- A candidate is entitled only to an applicable diversity score of 5 either from gender diversity or academic diversity. The short-listed candidates will have to appear for a GD/WAT followed by a Personal Interview (PI). IIM Kozhikode will conduct the PI and GD/WAT in Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Kozhikode, Mumbai and New Delhi.
- The entire process will last for a half-day (morning or afternoon) session where the candidate will be writing a short essay and participate in group discussion on the same topic, followed by personal interview. The topic will be announced at the venue just before the GD/WAT.
- The topics will include current political, economic, sports, business affairs, etc.
- During the interview, the panel will evaluate the academic background, quality of work experience and other personal traits of each candidate.
IIM Kozhikode Admission Criteria 2022 - Stage 3:
In this stage of IIM Kozhikode admission criteria 2022, names of finally selected candidates will be announced. After the conclusion of PI and GD/WAT, the final scores will be calculated based on the performance in CAT 2022, PI, GD/WAT, and quality of professional experience.
Category wise merit list will be prepared based on the final scores. Admission offers will be made to candidates following the merit list as per the Government of India reservation norms.

IIM Kozhikode Admission Criteria 2022 - Reservation Policy
IIM Kozhikode will follow Government of India reservation policy for admission to Central Educational Institutions (CEIs). Any argument concerning IIM Kozhikode admissions for the PGP Batch 2022-2020 would be subject to the jurisdiction of the competent Courts within the territorial jurisdiction of the city of Kozhikode only.
IIM Kozhikode Admission Criteria 2022-20 - Thing to remember
- Stage 1 of IIM Kozhikode admission procedure will be a pre-interview registration process and should not be misunderstood by a call for PI and GD/WAT
- Only candidates who have successfully registered online for admissions to IIM Kozhikode will be considered for stage 2 i.e. PI and GD or WAT. The successful registration does not automatically qualify a candidate for the stage 2 selection process.
- The number of candidates shortlisted for stage 2 would be the decision of IIM Kozhikode and would depend on the batch size planned for 2022-20 batches.
- Each IIM will have their own criteria for shortlisting the candidates for GD/WAT and PI rounds. Hence there may be differences in the lists of candidates shortlisted by different IIMs.
- The candidates shortlisted for stage 2(PI and GD/WAT) will be made available on the official website of IIM Kozhikode around the last week of January 2022. The interview call letters, venue details, etc. will also be provided on the IIM Kozhikode website and the candidates will be required to download the same.
- After the completion of stage 2 (GD/WAT and PI), a merit list for admissions is expected to be published in the last week of April/first week of May 2022. The required number of admission offers will be given in the order of merit, following the Government of India reservation policy. Hard copies of the admission offer will be issued only to those candidates who accept the offer and make the required payments within the specified time.
- A limited number of candidates will be kept in the wait list. Offers to the candidates in the waiting list will depend upon the number of candidates not accepting offers from the initial lists.
- All the candidates are advised to check their emails regularly and visit the IIMK’s web site for updates on admission related activities.
- If a candidate fails to complete the admission formalities within the stipulated time period, irrespective of reasons, the seat will be lost and the next candidate on the waiting list will be given the offer.
- IIMK reserves the right to change, modify or adopt any new admission policy and process to comply with Government/ Judicial requirements or as it deems necessary and which best suits its purpose of identifying and admitting the most appropriate candidates to the post graduate programme.
- IIMK does not share any responsibility for other institutions using the PI and GD/WAT scores of IIMK for their admissions.
- Originals (and copies) of all certificates (academics/ reservation category/ experience) must be produced for verification at the time of PI and GD/WAT. Any candidate failing to produce any of the original certificates mentioned will be disqualified from attending the PI.
- All communication pertaining to IIM Kozhikode PGP admissions will be done only through the admissions office of IIM Kozhikode
- IIM Kozhikode does not allow deferment of admission offer to subsequent years.
- Any misrepresentation or suppression of information by a candidate at any stage during the admissions process will lead to immediate disqualification of the candidate from the admission process.
- A candidate receiving the admission offer from IIM Kozhikode and accepting the offer within the specified time period will have to send along with offer acceptance an amount of Rs. 50,000/- The candidate will have to register on the registration day for the programme and pay the required fees to complete the admission process.
- If a candidate wants to withdraw from the programme can get the fee refunded on or before the closure of the admissions window.
