The Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta (IIM, Calcutta) has been ranked number one in Finance among the world’s 70 leading business schools that offer masters in management programme.
According to the Financial Times Global Masters in Management 2013 survey, the finance module in the Master of Management programme offered by IIM, Calcutta is the best in comparison to the subject taught at other B-schools.
The institute has also landed the second spot for its Economics course.
Meanwhile, the Indian Institute of Management (IIMs) in Ahmedabad and Calcutta have made it to the top 20 B-Schools in the Financial Times ‘Masters in Management’ global ranking 2013.
While IIM-Calcutta debuted at the 19th position, IIM-Ahmedabad landed the 18th spot, eight places below its previous ranking.
In a statement, IIM, Calcutta said, “We are overwhelmed to learn that in its very first outing, IIM Calcutta was ranked within the Top 20 Management programs in The World (ranked 19th)! It was even more heartening that IIM Calcutta was ranked higher than world renowned institutions like the London School of Economics, Aalto University, Manchester Business School and quite a few others.”
