IIM Amritsar Eligibility Criteria and Selection Process 2017

The Ministry of Human Resources Development with the support of Government of Punjab coined Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Amritsar in the year 2015. It is the 15th institute of IIM. IIM Amritsar offers Post Graduate Programme (PGP) in management. The duration of the programme is of two years.

The admission to the programme is through a rigorous and internationally acclaimed Common Admission Test (CAT) followed by Group Discussion (GD)/Written Ability Test (WAT) and Personal Interview (PI).

IIM Amritsar Selection Process and Eligibility Criteria 2022:

IIM Amritsar adopts a two-stage selection process and accordingly the selection criteria mentioned below are applied in two different stages for all the eligible candidates.

Stage 1:

All the candidates meeting the requirements mentioned in the table below are eligible for consideration to the stage 1 short-listing. However, the actual number of candidates shortlisted would be the discretion of the institutes and would depend on the batch size.

Stage 2:

The WAT & PI scores will be pooled from IIM Kashipur, IIM Bodh Gaya, IIM Kozhikode and other older IIMs (so candidates appearing for the Stage 2 process of the above IIMs may not be invited to attend the IIM Amritsar Stage 2 process). The merit list for admission to IIM Amritsar will be prepared based on the criteria given in Table 2.

Work Experience Index Score:

Previous work/professional experience will carry a weight of up to 5% depending on the length and quality of service as on January 31, 2022, as shown in Table 3. Only fulltime managerial work experience after graduation will be considered. Training/Project work/work completed as an integral part of the curricular requirement will not be considered.
