IHM Pusa Celebrates 52nd Annual Day 2015

Institute of Hotel Management, Catering and Nutrition, Pusa, New Delhi celebrated its 52nd Annual Day on February 27, 2015 to acknowledge and reward the hard work of its faculty, staff and students.

 

 The event started in the evening with Dr. Lalit K. Panwar, Hon’ble Secretary Ministry of Tourism as the Chief Guest for the event and was followed by an elaborate Hi-Tea, with a host of sumptuous delicacies from Rajasthan.

 

The event commenced with a beautiful Traditional welcome of the chief guest, with students singing and dancing to the Rajasthani Folk Song-Ara-ra-ra-ra and escorting the chief guest. The evening commenced with the lighting of the auspicious lamp of knowledge and wisdom by the Chief guest and invocation Song- Suno Suno.

 

The cynosure of the cultural program was Nirbhaya-The One Who Dares- a ballet with the theme of Women Empowerment. The students showcased powerpacked and exquisite performances.

 

The meritorious students of the institute were also awarded with prizes amounting to over 4 lakhs. The Institute’s Principal, Mr. Alok Shivapuri presented the annual report bringing forth the various laurels the institute has won in the previous year.

 

Senior Lecturer, Mr. Naresh Popli was honoured for completing 25 years of service with the institute by Dr. Lalit K. Panwar. All the National Award winners were also rewarded. There were various awards to acknowledge the staff and attendants working in the Insititute. Students won numerous awards and scholarships, sponsored by organisations like Carlson Group, Park Hotels, Everest, alumni of the institute and faculty of the Institute.

 

The institute also proudly announced the launch of its research journal-Pusa Journal of Hospitality and Applied Sciences with International Serial Standard Number (ISSN) and is the first ever IHM in the history of India to do so.

 

The event culminated with enlightening and appreciative thoughts from Dr. Lalit K. Panwar, the evening’s Chief Guest and subsequent vote of thanks by Dr. R.K. Gupta, Dean Academics and in the end the National Anthem.
