“I solemnly swear that I am up to no good.”
Are you the Fred and George Weasley of your college? Remember the moment when you reach your classroom, late, and falter at the doorsteps. You knock at the door and as a visibly fuming Professor peeks out, you spout out some incomprehensible excuses. The Professor shakes his/her head and bolts the door again! Ha! You are shaking your head, aren’t you? Honestly, this happens with everyone, the most intriguing part is to listen to the plentiful of excuses; hilarious ones, serious ones and what not!
Some common excuses coming your way:
I got up late: The most common excuse and the most boring one, I say. The winter classes have a spate of students showing in late with the same excuse –“It was too cold to get up”. Summer gives in way for the excuse of saying the heat made it unbearable to get out of the house on time! This traditional excuse is looked down by most professors; this is too lame, grow up, think something original!
The Metro got stuck: Some of the whining voices say – “The Metro got stuck due to some technical problem and it was resolved after half an hour!” True, the yellow line is in a pathetic condition and it does have many hiccups, but sorreh, you could get out of the house a bit early to avoid such disasters!
I was sick and had to visit the Doctor: Your eyes are lively and joyous, you seem hearty and healthy, and the main point, which Doctor opens the clinic before 10 in the morning? This lie seems pathetic!
Any idea of more excuses? You would probably have more suggestions; my college days have just started! Post your excuses below, I would love to sift through them!
