Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers (IETE) Delhi centre organized two days “I SMOKE “campaign” from September 4-5 2013.
“I SMOKE” is a movement with a vision to eradicate lung cancer. It’s an initiative of IIT Bombay and Tech fest in association with Indian Cancer Society and ICON.
Last year IETE DELHI centre had successfully organized “GIVE A COIN” Campaign to support child adaptation throughout the Country. This year the theme of the campaign is to spread the awareness on smoking and its harmful effects. It’s a nationwide campaign and going to be held in 50 colleges across the India.
The campaign held at IETE Delhi Centre and ended by a short lecture by Delhi’s top Oncologist DR. Hari Mohan from ICON Foundation.
In this campaign they showed a picture of lung with full of smoke layer on lung and by this picture they tried to send information between college fellows that how smoking is injurious for health and also we were invited all our college mates to come and share their thought about this biggest issue of our society and by this we gather information from crowd of about 600 students.
2 or 3 students were allotted as volunteer for giving directions to coming students about the campaign and they invited Doctor for special lecture in college campus.
