Have you taken the right turn?

Everyone I have been chatting with has been badly bruised in the admission process. From the confusion that ruled after the applications had been submitted to the sky high cut-offs which scared many a prospective applicant to pursuing his dream course in Delhi University, everyone has been repeating the same phrase – ‘Did I choose the correct path? Have I taken the correct decision?’

After being advised by everyone, those who were fortunate enough to get a seat in the first list did two things: Either took a seat in the favourite course in any college of name and fame or took a college of name and fame and chose a course they were eligible for. Few were the happy ones who got to taste both; icing on top of the cake – getting their favourite course in their preferred college! Then as further lists were rolled out, many students stayed put in their original colleges; except maybe to shift courses. 

The sole reason – there wasn’t a iota of visible change in the further lists; which can't be said to be unfair considering the fact that the Seats-students ratio is a mocking figure!

So, as most of the colleges are closing the gates and preparing for the first day, the question being asked is the same – ‘Have I taken the correct decision?’ I would divulge a secret – I myself was in this situation for some time, though I skilfully weaved my way out of the mental confusion.

What is it you need to do? Just believe in yourself! Course or College, that doesn’t matter now. I have known many who take up a course believing that to be their passion, but unfortunately they weren’t able to succeed.

I reiterate, believe in yourself and don’t regret your decision. A guilty conscience never helps; being cool and calm does!
