Guide to CLAT 2016 Question Paper

CLAT, or the Common Law Aptitude Test, is conducted for students who seek admission into different National Law Universities (NLUs) in India.  It is a National level entrance exam, which is conducted on rotational basis by 17 NLUs for admission into LL.B and LL.M programs. CLAT 2022 will be held on 8^th May, and will be conducted by the Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law (RGNUL) Patiala.

CLAT is relatively a tough entrance exam. It is a 2 hours test and carries a total of 200 marks. Securing a seat in the National Law Universities is not an easy task. It requires a lot of preparation and focus by the candidate. Some sample papers as well as previous years question papers are available here for reference. Practicing these question papers will provide the candidates an overview about the CLAT 2022 question paper.

CLAT 2022 question paper format for undergraduate program

The question paper of the CLAT entrance exam for admission into the undergraduate programmes consists of –

1. English Comprehension – 40 Marks
2. General Knowledge/Current Affairs – 50 Marks
3. Elementary Mathematics – 20 Marks
4. Numerical Ability and Legal Aptitude – 45 Marks
5. Logical Reasoning – 45  Marks

Question paper format for Post Graduate entrance exam

The question paper of entrance exam to the Post graduate program consists of 200 Marks questions that covers subjects like– Law of Torts, Law of Contract, Family Law, Criminal Law, Constitutional Law and Legal Theory. The question paper consists of –

• Objective type questions – 50 Marks
• Short Answers – 10 questions of 5 marks each
• Essay type questions – 2 questions of 50 marks each (There will be two sections having 3 questions each and the candidates must answer 1 question from each section).

It is important for the candidates, who will be appearing for LL.B or LL.M entrance exam, to note that there will be a system of negative marking. 0.25 marks will be deducted for every wrong answer in the MCQ section.
