Amity Institute of Rehabilitation Sciences organized a Guest Lecture on “Introduction to Remediation” for the students of B. Ed Special Education- Learning Disability on February 13, 2014 at the Amity University Campus.
Dr. (Mrs.) Geet Oberoi, Founder President, ORKIDS, an expert in the field of special education was the resource person for the session. Dr. Oberoi was welcomed by Dr. JP Singh, Chairman, Amity Foundation for Developmental Disabilities. In her introductory remarks, Dr. Geet Oberoi shared her own personal experiences of working with children with special needs.
She also emphasized that “No two individuals can be exact replicas of each other. Each individual, each child has strength in him/her and with special children we need to nurture and bring out these strengths that are buried under layers.
Dr. Oberoi focused her session on the process of remediation and different strategies to be applied while working with children with learning difficulties in an inclusive setup. An interactive session followed with the students who had so much to share and ask.
The lecture spellbound the students with intricate content knowledge which would enhance their potentials as upcoming special educators in the field of learning disability.
