Graduation Day 2013 celebrated at RajaRajeshwari Medical College, Bangalore with APJ Abul Kalam as Chief Guest

April 27, 2013 was the most eagerly awaited day at RajaRajeswari Medical College and Hospital Situated at Mysore Road in Bangalore. The celebration of its 3rd Graduation Day function was graced by none other than Former President of India, Bharat Ratna Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam.

After having posed with graduates, he then proceeded to inaugurate the newly built state - of- the- art Radiology and cardiology Blocks. Built on a impressive area of 1 lakh sq.ft. with an investment of a whopping 40 crores, including infrastructure and equipments, with latest CTscan, MRI scan and Cath Lab facilities just to name a few. The most impressive fact about this entire facility is that the services are offered to the needy at an unbelievably low prices. Dr. Kalam showed a lot of interest in the working of the machines.

He then visited the hospital to the delight of all the patients and the staff. True to his style, he freely mingled with everyone and spoke to few of the patients.

After the robing, he then proceeded to the ACS Auditorium which was jam packed. There was a huge roar as soon as he entered the auditorium and the audience was trying to get a glimpse of their beloved Former President.

Welcoming on the occasion, the Medical Director said that it was truly a momentous occasion in the annals of RajaRajeswari Medical College and Hospital.

The dignitaries on the stage included the Chairman of RajaRajeswari Group Of Institutions Mr. A.C. Shanmugam, Mr. A.C.S. Arun Kumar, Vice Chairman, RajaRajeswari Group Of Institutions, Prof. R.M. Vasagam, The Executive Director- Mr. Vijayanand, Dean, Vice Dean, Principal and the Medical Superintendent.

In his presidential address, Mr. A.C. Shanmugam said that Dr. Kalam is so highly regarded that, he is the first people's president and if allowed, will continue to be the permanent president of India.

The students were literally thrilled to have received their graduation awards from Abdul Kalamji and after the presentation, their most anticipated moment came that is the address by Dr.Kalamji. In his speech titled, Leading to Excellence, the Former President enthralled the audience with his oratory skills, in depth research and knowledge.

The former president obliged the crowd by signing autographs.
